9K a year 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago Job description The primary goal of the material handler is to operate the forklift under limited supervision to pick up and delivers supplies, materials, equipment, and other goods to and from shop areas.
Receives and moves freight, checks, and reports damaged or defective materials.
Prepares freight for shipment according to shipping policies and procedures.
Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping general or specialized materials and equipment.
Verifies shipments, identifies, and matches materials, by name, code, size and etc.
, stores, stacks, and palletizes materials.
Actively provides support for material requests, fulfills job orders and customer orders.
The material handler will help clean the shop area, machinery, and assist in other areas as needed.

Other duties may be assigned:
Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
Move controls to drive gas or electric-powered forklifts between loading, processing, and storage areas.
Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank.
Move parts from various buildings/areas to other areas on campus Cleaning of machinery and shop floors/area as needed Assisting in other departments/areas as needed Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures for safe handling/storing/moving of freight shipments.
Knowledge of safe forklift operations and lifting methods and techniques.
Ability to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment.
